Registers accredited by the Professional Standards Authority

UK Council for Psychotherapy

Visit website:

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a membership organisation and registered charity holding national registers for psychotherapists, psychotherapists qualified to work with children and young people and psychotherapeutic counsellors.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

Following the UKCP's most recent annual check in June 2022, we issued the following Condition of accreditation:

  1. The UKCP must update its complaints materials to reflect all potential outcomes, including feedback to registrants in complaints that do not pass its initial screening.

The UKCP must fulfil the Condition within three months of publication of that report.
