The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association of the psychoanalytic psychotherapy profession, publishing a Register of practitioners who are required to follow its ethical code and meet its fitness to practise standards.

BPC Accreditation status
BPC Condition Status
We renewed the BPC 's accreditation with three Conditions. In February 2026 we found that Condition One was met and the report of our assessment is published below. The remaining two conditions will be considered in routine assessments in future.
- Condition Review Report for Condition One
- Condition Two: The BPC must document / develop a policy in which they formalise their organisational risk management processes.
- Condition Three: The governance webpage must list the terms of reference, including roles, responsibilities regarding the various subcommittees and the board.
BPC Targeted Review Status
At the current time we have not identified the need for a Targeted Review.
BPC Notification of Change status
The BPC has not told us about any changes that might affect its accreditation.
