Association for Animals, Horticultural and Equine Practitioners (AAHEP)

The Association for Animals, Horticultural and Equine Practitioners ("AAHEP"), formerly known as Athena Herd Foundation, is a Community Interest Company, that sets professional standards in, and holds an accredited register that represents those providing, wellbeing and therapeutic services supported by horses and other animals, as well as social farming and horticultural activities.

AAHEP Condition Status

We completed our condition review of the AAHEP in January 2025. We found that the four outstanding Conditions we issued at its initial accreditation in December 2023 have been met, and as a result all Standards continue to be met. Accordingly, accreditation is fully confirmed with no outstanding conditions.

AAHEP Targeted Review Status

Following our most recent assessment we did not identify a need for a Targeted Review.

AAHEP Notification of Change status

The AAHEP has applied to be assessed for the addition of titles to their Accredited Register under our Notification of Change process.

We considered the AAHEP's Notification of Change (NoC) application to add four new occupations to its register under the 2023 edition of the Standards for Accredited Registers which were in place when the NoC application was first submitted in April 2024 and updated in November 2024. We decided that the change was in the public interest and would not affect the AAHEP's compliance with the Standards for Accredited Registers. The Panel approved the change subject to Conditions.
