PSA launches Easy Read Standards to widen access to public protection information

Today, we have published an Easy Read version of our new Standards for regulators and Accredited Registers which were published earlier this year and came into effect on 1 July 2026.
The Easy Read version, available in English and Welsh, uses concise language with illustrations in an easy-to-understand format. It is designed for people with learning disabilities and for anyone else who may find an Easy Read format helpful.
Making information accessible by transforming complex language into clear and understandable text helps everyone to understand our work. We want as many people as possible to understand how we assess regulators and Accredited Registers, and what they should be able to expect from them.
The new Standards bring together our previous separate Standards for regulators and Accredited Registers into a single, clearer framework. They place greater emphasis on areas including leadership and governance, managing risk, person-centred care, safeguarding and working with others to improve public protection.
