We recently hosted a webinar, in collaboration with Dr Helen Smith RN and Professor Jonathan Ives from the University of Bristol, exploring the potential development of guidance on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. This webinar brought together healthcare professionals, regulators and members of the public to discuss the opportunities and challenges of using AI in clinical settings. Through a series of real‑world scenarios and group discussions, participants explored key themes including AI safety, bias, transparency, accountability, and the importance of human oversight.

The session highlighted the need for clear guidance, strong governance, and inclusive data to ensure AI tools support safe, fair and effective patient care. Attendees also emphasised the importance of training, evidence-based use, and effective reporting systems to build trust and support responsible adoption of AI across healthcare.
