The review conducted of the Nursing Council of New Zealand (October 2012)

We were asked by the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) to undertake a review of the effectiveness of its governance arrangements and its conduct, competence and health functions. We carried out this review in March and April 2012.

Standards for members of NHS boards in England – views of NHS staff and the public

As part of our work to advise the Secretary of State for Health on Standards for members of NHS boards and Clinical Commissioning Group governing bodies in England, we carried out research with members of the public and NHS staff in England. We sought their views on the content, accessibility, and applicability of the draft Standards.

Modern and efficient fitness to practise adjudication

September 2011 advice to the Secretary of State on modernising and improving the efficiency of fitness to practise adjudication among the health professional regulators.

Effective engagement with patients and the public

The Professional Standards Authority's July 2011 good practice report identifies the most effective methods for patient and public participation (PPP), following a finding in our 2009/10 Performance Review.

Enhancing confidence in fitness to practise adjudication - research report

We asked Research Works to explore people’s experiences of fitness to practise across a range of regulatory bodies, with a focus on adjudication. This report was published in May 2011.

The Medical Council of New Zealand: performance review report (May 2010)

The Medical Council of New Zealand invited us to undertake a performance review of their organisation. The performance review was carried out in April and May 2010.
