We set standards for regulators and accredited registers. We sometimes develop standards or guidance for people working in health and care too. You will find them here.
These Standards were used for our performance reviews from 2010-2019 but were replaced in January 2020 with a revised set of Standards following two consultations and a pilot phase
These are the current Standards of Good Regulation which we use to assess regulators' performance. These Standards started to be used from January 2020 and replaced the previous Standards.
Guidance for patients, health professionals, education and training providers and fitness to practise panels published in 2008 and 2009.
Our Standards describe the behaviour and competencies expected of NHS leaders in England.
Standards for Accredited Registers
From January 2020, we are using our new Standards of Good Regulation. The previous Standards will remain in use for the outstanding reports for the 2018/19 performance review cycle. You can find out more about the how and why we revised the Standards here.
