COSCA – Scotland’s professional body for counselling and psychotherapy – sets standards for its registrants in the practice of counselling and psychotherapy and is committed to increasing access to counselling and psychotherapy services.

We completed our full renewal assessment of COSCA on 5 September 2024. You can read our report here.

We issued the following Conditions to be implemented by the deadline given:

1.    COSCA should review its Sanctions Policy to include a clear outline of its process for restoring registrants to the Register following disciplinary action 3 Months of publication of report
Standard 5 2.    COSCA should review its complaints guidance procedures to make provision for restriction on an interim order basis where there appears to be an immediate risk to the public
 
3 months of publication of report
