The Professional Standards Authority’s policy and research activities cover a wide range of issues relating to health and social care professional regulation. We look at specific questions or examine wider themes. The common factor underpinning all our work is that it affects the health, safety and well-being of patients, service users and the public and it may be possible to improve how health and care professional regulators carry out their duties.
We respond to work that other organisations are doing, such as regulators, Government departments and Parliamentary committees, when we believe we can add to the debate.
