The
Authority wishes to offer its deepest sympathy and condolences to the
individuals and families affected by the use of infected blood and infected
blood products.
The
Infected Blood Inquiry asked us to provide more information on our
recommendation that each UK country should have a Health and Social Care Safety
Commissioner, or equivalent function. We made this recommendation in our
recently published report Safer care for all - solutions from professional regulation and beyond.
We
look forward to seeing the Inquiry’s findings in due course.
