This report assesses the risk of harm arising from the practice of sonographers. We were commissioned by Health Education England to provide advice on the most appropriate form of assurance for the role using the criteria we set out in Right-touch assurance
An amended version of this report was uploaded on 2 August 2019 to include minor corrections to data on number ultrasound tests carried out in 2017.
