Reporting to Parliament

Commons Health Committee July 2016

On 5 July, we gave evidence before the Health Committee on the performance of the professional regulators we oversee and were asked for our views regarding the future regulation of health professionals. In addition, the Committee also examined how we have performed in our role as the body responsible for maintaining high standards in professional regulation.

In attendance were the Authority's Chief Executive, Harry Cayton, our Chair George Jenkins, and Assistant Director (Scrutiny and Quality) Philip Hallam.

Topics covered included rethinking regulation, accredited registers, right-tough regulation, revalidation, fitness to practise reviews and the Authority's powers.
